The data provided by the system supplement those of the current systems for recording the inventory and state of roads, as it enables the early detection of flaws, which helps to save costs. The load bearing capacity under the wheel load of a twin tyre is measured with three geophones attached to a 15-metre chain running along the lane. Measurements are done in moving traffic at a speed of 18 km/h. The measurement result shows the complete deflection profile, from which parameters such as maximum deflection or curvature radius can be deduced.
